ABOUT THE SWORD AND IVY

The Sword and Ivy is an online shopping store that operates from a brick and mortar showroom located in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee outside of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Owners, Greg and Kathryn Rutherford, are both fine artists, craftsmen and instructors with qualifications in many areas and specialty services that make their business offerings unique.

Kathryn is an award-winning fine artist, art and photography restoration conservator and licensed high school and college fine art teacher who's work and expertise spans traditional fine art and portraiture, historical techniques and digital technology. Greg is a technical advisor and instructor in the screenprinting industry and has operated his own graphic design and print studio for more than twenty-five years. He also creates magnificent Nantucket Style Baskets, woodturned bowls and works in ceramics and clay. The Sword and Ivy operates from the brick and mortar showroom that houses the Rutherford's two studios and their specialty gift shop, Outstanding Expectations which sells dollhouses and miniatures, unique jewelry, specialty toys, handmade gifts, fine art, giclee prints and is known as the only full scale kite shop in the State of Tennessee. Many of the products sold at The Sword and Ivy are designed and handmade by Greg and Kathryn Rutherford. Since they are both fine artists and are able to produce all of their own designs then produce them as screenprinted or dye sublimation products all in-house, Greg and Kathryn can produce unique products, with unique designs and offer them at lower prices. They print all their individual designs on glass, metal, magnet, ceramic, tiles and textiles producing a range of products from the traditional boxes, coffee mugs, mousepads and t-shirts to the more specialized items of purses, scarves, jewelry, umbrellas, printed kites and even custom tiles for installation in home decor products or tile murals for walls, floors or shower surrounds.

Other products sold at both the online shop and showroom are from some of the finest manufacturers and craftsmen in the industry.
